Silver, partially enamelled, slight traces of
gilding. The reverse engraved with the wearer
number “522”, stamped with the manufactur-
er’s mark and mark of fineness “916”. Screw
disc attachment possibly unassociated. Good

Medaille „Goldener Stern” zum Held der So-
wjetunion. Gold, rs. Verl. Nr. „8976”, an der
Tragespange, Gewicht ca. 21,5 g. Komplett mit
Ordensbuch, datiert 1946. Dazu fünf weitere
Ausweise, u.a. für die „Medaille Chinesisch-
Sowjetischer Freundschaft” für die „Grün-
dung der Sondertruppen in der chinesischen
Volksbefreiungsarmee”. Alexander Fedoro-
vich Vasko, erfolgreicher Jagdflieger im 2.
Weltkrieg, bei 49 Luftkämpfen 15 bestätigte
Luftsiege. Teilnehmer imKoreakrieg 1951, bei
ca. 100 Einsätzen drei bestätigte Luftsiege mit
Abschuss von den Jagdflugzeugen U.S. Air
Force F-86 (2) und F-80. Ab 1960 Oberst.

The “Gold Star”medal of the Hero of the Soviet
Union. Gold, award no. “8976” on the reverse,
on the clasp for wear, weight approx. 21.5 g.
Complete with Orders Book, dated 1946. In-
cludes five other identity cards, e.g. for the med-
al commemorating the Sino-Soviet Friendship
for the “establishment of the special forces in the
Chinese People’s Liberation Army”. Alexandr
Fydorovich Vasko was a successful fighter pilot
inWorldWar II, with 15 confirmed aerial victo-
ries in 49 dogfights. Fought in the Korean War
of 1951, with approx. 100 missions and three
confirmed aerial victories, shooting down U.S.
Air Force F-86 (2) and F-80 fighter planes.
Promoted to colonel in 1960.
