ErzherzoginMarie Valerie (1868 - 1924), Lieb- lingstochter der Kaiserin, lernt 1886 auf einem Ball Erzherzog Franz Salvator von Österreich- Toskana kennen, den sie 1890 in Ischl heiratet. Klinkosch, purveyor to the imperial and royal court and chambers, Vienna, circa 1880 Silver frame with engraved décor of blossoms and rocailles. Curved shape, the lower end slightly flared and with master’s mark of Joseph Carl von Klinkosch as well as Viennese mark of fineness for 800 silver from 1867 on- wards with the double-headed eagle for court purveyors. The upper end with engraved and crowned monogram “MV”. The reverse lined domed handle and four openworked feet, un- derneath the spout delicately engraved and entwined monogram “MV” underneath the archducal crown, beside the handle master‘s mark “JCK”, Viennese hallmark with head of Diana for 800 silver and double-headed eagle for court purveyors. The four feet mounted on a pedestal in the centre of the silver tray with hand-made silver wing screws, the tray like- wise with engraved and crowned monogram “MV” on the obverse. On the bottom master’s mark “J.C.Klinkosch” (slightly misstruck), re- peated hallmark with head of Diana and double-headed eagle for court purveyors. Height approx. 22 cm, length approx. 28 cm and width approx. 19 cm. Weight 1,285 g. The silver ladle with horizontally oval bowl, identical marks (“JCK”, head of Diana and double-headed eagle), engraved and crowned monogram “MV” on the bottom of the shaft. Length 20 cm, weight 111 g. Excellently preserved sauce boat from the trousseau of Empress Elisabeth’s favourite daughter, who made the acquaintance of Arch- duke Franz Salvator of Austria-Toscana at the early age of 18, became engaged to him in 1888, but, as a consequence of the suicide of her brother, Archduke Rudolf, in 1889 was un- able to get married until one year later. 272486 I - € 4.000 1574 Erzherzogin Marie Valerie von Österreich - silberner Garderobenspiegel, K.u.K. Geschwunge- ne Form, am Unterrand leicht ausgestellt und mit Meistermarke von Joseph Carl von Klin- kosch sowie Wiener Feingehaltspunze für 800er Silber, ab 1867, mit demDoppeladler der Hoflieferanten. Am Oberrand graviertes und bekröntes Monogramm „MV”. Die Rückseite mit Buchenholz ausgekleidet (vier der insge- samt zwölf von Hand gearbeiteten silbernen Befestigungsmuttern fehlen), die Stellstütze ebenfalls aus Buchenholz und im Neigungs- winkel verstellbar, die Silberbeschläge der Stütze erneut punziert mit „JCK” und Diana- kopf-Punze. Das trüb gewordene Spiegelglas erneuert. Höhe ca. 47 cm, Breite 43 cm. Josef Carl von Klinkosch (1822-88), seit 1855 K.u.K. Hof- und Kammerlieferant, wurde 1869 1574 with beech wood (four of the in total twelve hand-crafted silver fastening nuts missing), the adjustable supporting stand likewise made of beech wood, the silver fittings on the stand also punched with “JCK” and with a hallmark with head of Diana. The clouded mirror glass re- placed. Height approx. 47 cm, width 43 cm. Josef Carl von Klinkosch (1822-88), purveyor to the imperial and royal court and chambers since 1855, became sole proprietor of the sil- versmith workshop hitherto known as Mayer- hofer & Klinkosch in 1869 and renamed it “J. C. Klinkosch”. Archduchess Marie Valerie (1868 - 1924), the Empress’s favourite daughter, made the ac- quaintance of Archduke Franz Salvator of Austria-Toscana at a ball in 1886 and was married to him in Ischl in 1890. 272432 II € 5.000
