4059 Niellierter und teilvergoldeter silbermontierter Shamshir, Turkmenistan, Mitte 19. Jhdt. Kräftige frühere persischeKlinge des 18. Jhdts. aus schön gemasertem Wootz-Damast mit terzseitig in Resten goldeingelegter Marke unter geätzter Inschriftenkartusche, datiert „1200“ (= 1786). Beidseitig geometrisch und floral nielliertes Silbergefäß mit stilisiertem Tierkopf am Knauf. Aus fünf Teilstücken be- stehende, rs. durch Ringe verbundene Ganz- silberscheide mit schauseitig teilvergoldetem und nielliertem, vollflächigem Niellodekor. Am rs. Mund niellierte Besitzerinschrift (Nur-Verdi-Khan). Zwei seitliche kräftige Trageringe aus Silber. Prunkvoller Säbel mit ungewöhnlich schwerer Silbermontierung. Länge 97,5 cm, Gewicht über 2 kg. Möglicherweise die persönliche Waffe eines bekannten Anführers der Tekke, Nur-Verdi- Khan, Sohn des Murat Khan. The silver hilt with geometric and floral niello decoration on both sides, a stylised animal’s head on the pommel. The solid silver scabbard composed of five parts, connected with rings at the back, and with nielloed, partially gilt décor all over the front. A nielloed inscription of the owner (Nur-Verdi-Chan) on the back of the locket. Two heavy silver suspension rings at the sides. A magnificent sabre with unusually heavy silver mounting.
