The hinged section of the right piece has been lost. No ornamen­ tation on the skull, the edge not reinforced. Cleaned on the outside. Beautiful, dark green patina. Tool marks still clearly visible on the hel­ met, caused by twisting it off, while the neck guard was hammered from the inside. Two short, insignificant cracks on the right-hand side and at the top right, at the join of the knob point. Height 19 cm. A magnificent A bronze helmet of the Montefortino type inscribed with the name of the Scythian king Skilouros, circa 140/130 - 114/113 B.C. Completely preserved, almost hemispherical bronze helmet, extending upwards to a conical knob, offset at the bottom and flattened on the top, to which a crest was attached. The sheet metal is approx. 2 mm thick. The helmet knob is hammered out from the skull. At the back, the skull continues down to a narrow, slightly sloping neck guard, measuring 2.4 cm at the widest point. Struck with the inscription “BASILEOS
