| 221 A large set of 23 “Japanese” figurines from the “Foreign nations” series, Meissen, 20th century, the model by Friedrich Elias Meyer (*1724 Erfurt - †1785 Berlin) Three-dimensional, finely modelled porcelain, painted in colour and complemented with gold highlights. Seated and standing figurines in appropriate national dress and with different attributes, each on a small, naturalistic pedestal. Minimal traces of age. Some with a red label and corresponding manufactory price. All figurines bearing the blue sword, an impressed mark and the painter’s mark. Height 12/13 cm. Friedrich Elias Meyer was court sculptor in Weimar, modeller in Meis­ sen from 1748 and model master craftsman in Berlin from 1761 to 1785. Literature: Meissen: Figuren Volume II Farbabbildung.
