Certificate of proof-mark absence for collectors. On the left side of the breech- block “U.S. & S Co./Swissvale, Pa. U.S.A.”, struck by hand on the right side of the frame the small inscription “U S & C O / E X P No 31”. Fully preserved original matt bluing. Dark brown plastic grip panels. Magazine. As-new condition. Note: A small number of pre-produced com- ponents from trials prior to the final serial production in early 1943 were assembled to approximately 100 pistols which were given to officers and company staff, marked as noted above.
