The base of the blade with etched and gilt Saxon coat of arms and date “23. April 1901” within an Art Nouveau cartouche. On the ricasso maker’s mark “W.K. & C, Solingen”, the back of the blade with etched inscription “Hast & Uhthoff Dresden”. Brass knuckle-bow hilt with guard plate. Brass grip with mother-of-pearl inlays, pommel with hunting scene in relief and three-dimensional deer head. On the pommel cap mother-of-pearl plaque with crowned cypher “A”. Wooden scabbard with brown leather cover and brass furniture. Inserted by-knife with Damascus steel blade and mother-of-pearl grip scales. The chape with depiction of a boar in relief. Frog stud with Saxon coat of arms in relief. The locket with en- graved wearer’s name “Woldemar Jacobi” on the reverse. In the original scabbard of brown leather. Length 61.5 cm.
