1658 Polychrome Oinochoe mit plastischem Antlitz einer Dame, Canosa, Unteritalien, 4. Jhdt. v. Chr. Oinochoe in Form eines Frauenkopfes, der auf einem breiten Gefäßfuß ruht. Das schmale, weiße Gesicht blickt ernst geradeaus, das üppige braune Haar ist nach hinten gekämmt und wird von einem netzartig verzierten Kopftuch bedeckt. Hoher, schmaler Gefäßhals mit parallel verlaufendem, hochziehendem Henkel, beide mit rosafarbener Deko- ration. Vollständiges Gefäß ohne Ergänzungen und Restaurierungen. Intakt. Höhe 36,5 cm. In dieser Qualität seltenes, bestechendes Gefäß. Provenienz: Aus in Deutschland verwahrter Privatsammlung. Erwor- ben in den 1990er Jahren im englischen Kunsthandel. A Canosan polychrome oenochoe with the fully sculptured face of a woman, Southern Italy, 4th century B.C. Oenochoe with a belly in the shape of a female head, resting on a broad base. The slender, white face looking straight ahead with a serious ex­ pression, the luxuriant brown hair fastened at the back and covered with a net-like, ornate head scarf. The high, narrow neck of the vessel with a parallel, raised handle, both with pink decorations. The complete vessel without any replacements or restorations. Intact. Height 36.5 cm.
