3279 3279 Rossstirn, Ostanatolien/Iran, 1. Hälfte 16. Jhdt. Schmiedeeisen. Einteilige, mehrfach gegratete Rossstirn mit halbrund getriebenen Augen- und Ohrenausschnitten. Im Stirnbereich gravierte (beriebene) Schriftkartusche über „Tamga“ des St. Irenenarsenals in Konstantinopel. Jeweils seitlich, im Front- und Nasenbereich palmet- tenförmige gravierte Kartusche. Gereinigte Oberfläche, oberhalb des linken Augenausschnittes kleine Fehlstelle. Höhe 53 cm. Chamfrons dieses Typs wurden in einemweiten Gebiet wie Ak-Koyun- lu, Iran, und im osmanischen Reich getragen. Forged of one piece, with several ridges and chased semi- circular eye and ear openings. On the forehead an engraved (rubbed) calligraphic inscription over “tamga” of the St. Irene arsenal in Con- stantinople. Engraved palmette-shaped cartouche on each side in the frontal and nasal section. Cleaned surface, small loss over the left eye cut-out. Height 53 cm. Chamfrons of this type were used in a large region such as Ak Koyunlu, Iran, and the Ottoman Empire.
