3732 Ritterliches Schwert, Frankreich, 2. Viertel 15. Jhdt. Sehr breite, sich gleichmäßig zur Spitze ver- jüngende, zweischneidige Stoßklinge mit leichtem Mittelgrat und beidseitiger Schmie- demarke. Eiserne Parierstange mit nach unten gebogenen Enden. Schwerer, eiserner Schei- benknauf mit facettierten Rändern, der Griff mit späterer (?) Eisendrahtwicklung. Klinge mittig mit Anbruch und leicht verbogen, An- gel vermutlich gebrochen, da Griff minimal gelockert. Gesamtlänge 89,5 cm, Klingenlän- ge 72 cm, Gewicht 1260 g. Dunkelbraun-schwarze Fluss-Patina in Form von Goethit (hydratisiertes Eisenoxid). Be- merkenswert gut erhaltene Substanz, nur klei- nere Fehlstellen. Vgl. dazu E. A French medieval sword, 2nd quarter of the 15th century The very wide, double-edged thrusting blade of flattened diamond section, tapering evenly toward the point, with a smith’s mark stamped on both sides. The ends of the iron quillons curving downwards. The heavy iron disc pommel with faceted edges, the grip with iron wire winding, possibly of later date. The blade slightly bent with a small crack in the middle, the tang probably broken as the grip is slightly loose. Overall length 89.5 cm, length of blade 72 cm, weight 1260 g. Dark brown to blackish river patina in the form of goethite (hydrated iron oxide). The substance in remarkably good condition, merely with minor defects. See E.
