3703 Langer Linkhanddolch, deutsch, wohl Sachsen, um 1600/1610 Schlanke Stichklinge mit rhombischem Quer- schnitt, Fehlschärfe mit umlaufend gravierter Zierlinie. Leicht nach vorne und zur Klinge hin geneigte Parierstangenarme mit rhombi- schem Querschnitt und kleinen Endknäufen. Einseitig runder, an der Innenseite gegrateter Daumenring. Hilze mit Kupfer- und Mes- singdrahtwicklung, eiserne Griffzwingen mit Kerbdekor. Konischer, sechzehnfach gegra- teter Knauf mit abgesetztem Vernietknauf. Knauf und Parierstange mit originaler Glanz- brünierung, an Knauf und Parierstange stel- lenweise Reste von Feuervergoldung. Länge 55 cm. Provenienz: Hermann Historica, Auktion 20, 12. Mai 1989, Los 874. A German, probably Saxon, long, left-handed dagger, circa 1600/1610 Narrow thrusting blade of flattened diamond section, the ricasso engraved with a continu­ ous decorative line. The arms of the quillons of flattened diamond section, curving slightly to­ wards the blade and terminating in small fini­ als. The circular thumb ring on one side ridged on the interior surface. The grip wrapped with copper and brass wire, iron grip ferrules with incised ornamentation. The conical pommel with sixteen ridges and a distinct, riveted fini­ al. The pommel and quillons with the original, highly polished bluing, remnants of fire gild­ ing in places. Length 55 cm.
