3584 Barbuta im korinthischen Stil, Mailand, um 1460 Einteilig geschlagene Glocke mit kräftigem Mittelgrat. T-förmige Gesichtsöffnung mit kurzem Nasal, umlaufend vernieteter, brei- ter Brechrand. Umlaufende Futterlochungen mit zum Großteil erhaltenen Futternieten. Darunter seitlich je zwei Lochungen zur Be- festigung des Kinnriemens. Fein nach außen gebördelter, unterer Rand, im Nacken zwei vierkantige Hängelochungen. Schwarze, leicht krustige Brandpatina mit brandbedingten, kleinen Kupferaufschmelzungen und kleinen Korrosionsausblühungen. Durch Feuereinwir- kung leicht deformiert. Höhe 28 cm, Gewicht 2.700 g. Extrem formschön gearbeitete Barbuta, in der seltenen und begehrten korinthischen Form. Vergleichbare Helme befinden sich u.a. in der Wallace Collection in London (Inv.Nr. A row of lining holes around the edge, the majority of the rivets still in place. Below this, two perforations on each side to attach the chinstrap. The delicate lower edge turned outwards, two rectangular suspension holes at the nape. Black, slightly encrusted pyre patina with small, fire-induced signs of copper fusion and small efflorescences of corrosion. Slight- ly deformed due to exposure to fire. Height 28 cm, weight 2,700 g.
