Description

The awe-inspiring highlight of this auction is gracefully decorating the cover of this catalogue: the extremely detailed 1:100 model of the German battleship „Kaiser Friedrich III“, entirely made of silver by a well-known jeweller from berlin. This enormous ship was presented to Prince Heinrich of Prussia by the officers serving him as Admiral of Germanys imperial navy when he was promoted Grand Admiral and became Inspector General of the Navy in 1909.

Almost as elaborate and no less prominent is a beautiful side-by-side percussion rifle, built for the personal gun chamber of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria by Vincent Lebeda in Prague, being no. 9 of his last batch built for the Kaiser. Friends of edged weapons will find their hearts pounding when looking at an exceptional sword, given by King Georg V of Hannover to one of his commanding officers. What about breakfast at Tiffanies on a porcelain plate from a Chinese set, ordered by King Friedrich the Great? Or decorating your living room with a painting from the collection of Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna Romanova? And on and on you will find objects from a vast range of royal splendour from all over the place, Europe, Middle East and Asia – it can’t get any more imperial!
